  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Cream butter and 1/2 cup sugar in a large bowl, then add eggs and mix well.
  3. Add milk, sweet potatoes, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt, mixing well.
  4. Pour batter into pie shell and bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Reduce heat to 350°F and bake for 35-40 minutes. Cool.
  6. While pie is cooling, prepare whipped cream.
  7. Whisk 2 Tbsp sugar and heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
  8. Serve each slice of pie with a dollop of homemade whipped cream and enjoy.
