Preparation

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease and flour 9x13-inch cake pan.
  3. Cream butter and sugar until blended.
  4. Add eggs and instant coffee, beating well. Stir in milk, vanilla and molasses.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder and salt.
  6. Combine wet and dry mixtures until blended.
  7. Spread batter in prepared pan.
  8. For topping, using a pastry cutter or two forks, cut together butter, flour, sugar and nuts until mixture is crumbly.
  9. Sprinkle on top of batter. Bake 40-50 minutes, or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
